Abstract Magnetic resonance imaging scans were visually inspected to investigate the incidence of gray matter heterotopia (GMH) in a group of 55 schizophrenic patients and a group of 75 control subjects. No GMHs were found in the control subjects. In the patient group, 1 GMH was found, an incidence of 1.8\%.
