Abstract We report the case of an infant who underwent surgery on the first day of life for a giant omphalocele. At the age of 16 months, he presented an acute abdominal syndrome and died a few hours later. Autopsy revealed a twisted left liver lobe (LL) including a suprahepatic vein. To our knowledge, this is the first case of giant omphalocele complicated by twisted liver lobe and fatal outcome. Copyright © 2012. Published by Elsevier SAS.
