Abstract Share this page

During the recent medical strike in India (June 10, p 1892),1 myself and a handful of fellow doctors took on the herculean task of providing care at AIIMS, India's top medical college and the epicentre of the strike action. We often struggled with pending diagnostics results and had to treat patients empirically to avoid delay. Terminal cancer patients eligible for aggressive chemotherapy or radiotherapy were treated only symptomatically.
