Abstract This article is a review of the incidence, characteristics, risk factors, proposed causes, outcomes, treatment and nursing management of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. Despite the fact that it affects most pregnant women to some degree, it is poorly understood and often poorly treated. Specific suggestions for therapeutic interventions are outlined.
