We have determined the Burgers vector of dislocations formed During the thermo-mechanical treatment needed to induce the two way memory effect in a CuZnAl alloy. This quantitative analysis was performed in the very highly anisotropic β1, phase (A ∼- 15) by computer simulations of the contrast of dislocations observed in a transmission electron microscope.
