Abstract Share this page

College students' use of and attitudes toward traditional and nontraditional news media were examined. Also investigated were the role of the Cable News Network and the integration of CNN into evolving news consumption patterns. Significant differences by year in college were identified, with later college years associated with heavier news consumption. CNN viewers were found to differ significantly from non‐CNN viewers in their heavier use of daily newspapers, weekly news magazines, and late night local news viewing.
