Psychosocial adversities are not uncommon among children with chronic physical illnesses who survived because of the improved management of such disorders and health care’s quality. Accordingly, mental health assessment and treatment of any concomitant mental disorder is a crucial part of the management plan of chronically physically ill children and adolescents. Addressing the psychosocial, psychiatric, educational, and vocational needs of those children and adolescents by a multidisciplinary professional team with appropriate family and social support are essential to help them to cope with their illnesses and achieve their ultimate goals in life.
