Abstract We report a rare case of posttraumatic chronic mycotic pseudoaneurysm of the ascending aorta presenting with acute rupture. The uniqueness of the case lies in its unusual etiology, presentation, and management with direct repair of the aorta without using cardiopulmonary bypass.
