Abstract Fracture of the hyoid bone is a well-documented but rare consequence of certain types of trauma to the neck and lower face that may result in significant complications. We report a case of hyoid bone fracture, caused by induced vomiting, that resolved without complications and discuss the mechanism of injury and its complications, as well as associated injuries.
