Serum calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc and inorganic phosphorus levels were studied in clinically healthy Yorkshire and Hampshire × Yorkshire swine from birth to 5 mo. of age. Blood samples were obtained at birth (before nursing) and at the following postpartum intervals: 24, 48 and 72 hr.; 5 and 7 days; 2, 3 and 5 weeks; and 2, 3, 4 and 5 months. Mean calcium values did not vary appreciably with age, and ranged from 9.3 to 11.8 mg./100 ml. Inorganic phosphorus concentration was 5.3 mg./100 ml. at birth, rose to 11.6 mg./100 ml. at 2 weeks and then gradually declined to 7.1 mg./100 ml. at 5 months. Magnesium values dropped from birth to 24 hr. and then rose to a peak at 2 weeks. Subsequent mean values were 3.5 mg./ 100 ml. or lower. Mean sodium and potassium concentrations ranged from 321 and 15.6 mg./ 100 ml. to 360 and 25.8 mg./100 ml, respectively. Mean copper values rose from a low of 2 7 mcg./100 ml. at birth to a high of 198 mcg./100 ml. at 3 weeks. Serum zinc concentrations ranged from 54 to 141 mcg./100 ml.
