Abstract The proportion of insufficient sweat tests after positive newborn screening for cystic fibrosis was determined. Infants ≤ 3 months old had a mean (± standard deviation) rate of 7.2\% (± 7.6) (range, 0\% to 40\%). Collection methods did not affect the rates. The high and variable rates indicate a need for quality improvement. Copyright © 2010 Mosby, Inc. All rights reserved.
