Abstract Share this page

Abstract Obesity is an independent risk factor for the development of coronary heart disease. The vast majority of individuals entering into cardiac rehabilitation are overweight. Weight loss has been shown to be helpful in modifying multiple coronary risk factors. Cardiac rehabilitation programs, as secondary prevention centers, need to develop programs to assist participants with meaningful and permanent weight loss.
