The risks to global fi nancial stability continued to remain at elevated levels, with global growth witnessing a fragile and multi-paced pattern of recovery. In the meanwhile, the global macro-fi nancial risks shifted from advanced to emerging economies with the latter facing pressures from weakening prospects of growth, falling commodity prices and strengthening of the dollar. 1 Within the emerging world, however, the Indian economy appeared quite resilient, given a modest recovery in the economy, declining infl ation and buoyant capital fl ows that helped in maintaining the external sector balance
