metabolic Syndrome (MS) is currently considered to be a risk factorfor atherotrombosis disease. Visceral Fat (VF) is one of the importantfactors in the diagnostic criteria of MS, and the increase of VF cancause arteriosclerotic diseases as a result of coronary risk factors suchas diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hypertension, endothelialdysfunction, inflammation, insulin resistance, glucose intolerance, andobesity (Figure 1). The VF has paracrine and systemic effects and is asource of adipocytokines and it has been implicated in thepathogenesis of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) [1-9].
