Biography

Chandra Mohan R Tamatam, Ph.D. (2010, Department of Biotechnology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, India). Dr. Chandra Mohan R Tamatam received his Ph.D in 2010 from the Department of Biotechnology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, India. His studies involve cloning, expression, purification and characterization of lipoxygenases and cyclooxygenases, screening of natural and synthetic compounds at three levels- isolated enzymes, cell lines and animal models, so as to identify the potent anti-inflammatory drug candidates; studies on anti-cancer effects of isolated natural compounds and unravel the molecular mechanisms and published the work in peer-reviewed journals. After his Ph.D, he worked as a Research Associate (granted by DBT, Govt. of India) till Dec., 2011 at University of Hyderabad, India. In continuation of research interest, Chandramohan came to the US as a Postdoc Research Associate in the Pediatrics Department at The University of Illinois at Chicago. He is presently working on the lung development and complication with hyperoxia exposure, mainly Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD).
