Giliane de Souza Trindade is a biologist graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1996). She obtained a master's degree (1998) same university and doctorate (2003) in Microbiology. She has completed three stages of post-doctoral, one being held at the CDC in Atlanta (2006-2008). She is currently Professor. Deputy of the Federal University of Minas Gerais where she teaches microbiology for the undergraduate and graduate and guides undergraduate students, masters and doctorate. Its main subjects of interest include virology and their following topics: viral diagnosis, Poxviruses biology, ecology of emerging viruses, viruses and atomic force microscopy, epidemiology and viral diversity. She served as a reviewer for international scientific journals.
