Giovanni Taibbi

Biography

Giovanni Taibbi, MD, is a glaucoma research fellow at the UTMB Health Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Taibbi earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Università degli Studi di Milano, Milan, Italy. His research interests include imaging of the optic disc and the retinal nerve fiber layer using Spectral-domain OCT for glaucoma diagnosis and detection of disease progression, study of the correlation between glaucoma structural damage and visual function deterioration, and study of the effects of microgravity on ocular structures and visual function. In addition, Dr. Taibbi supervises medical students' glaucoma research activities.
