Biography

Education: after graduation with honours in Medicine, he trained at the School of Neurology of the University of Catania (Italy), and he is now an international PhD Student at the same Institution. He got licence to practice in Italy and United Kingdom (UK).
Training: he specialized in Cerebrovascular Diseases and Neurosonology at the “Stroke Unit” of La Spezia Hospital (Italy). As visiting Clinical Research Fellow, he further trained at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology of the “Royal Victoria Infirmary” and at the Department of Neuroscience, Newcastle University (UK).
Work experiences: as Assistant Investigator, he cooperated with the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering of the University of Catania (Italy) for clinical support to integrated neurophysiological techniques applied in brain aging and cognitive disorders. He is currently Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Researcher at the “Oasi” Institute for Research on Mental Retardation and Brain Aging (I.R.C.C.S.) of Troina (Italy), which is a Collaborating Center of World Health Organization (WHO) for Research and Training in Neurosciences.
Publications : he has co-authored more than 50 publications in international refereed Journals and Conferences, including research articles, systematic reviews, invited editorials, case reports and meeting abstracts.
Awards : in 2013 he was selected for one the six Scientific Fellowship promoted by the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS), with the project titled “Visual hallucinations in dementia with Lewy bodies: a combined TMS/EEG study”.
International collaborations: he is currently involved in collaborative studies with the Newcastle University (UK) in the field of Clinical Neurophysiology and Neurogenetics.
Editorial experiences: he serves as Editorial Board member and invited Reviewer for several indexed international Journals.
