Biography

José Eduardo Martinez earned a PhD in Rheumatology by the Federal University of São Paulo in 1993. He is currently a professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP) and rheumatologist of Health Department of the State Government of São Paulo. In PUCSP served as head of the Department of Medicine from August 2001 to July 2009, he was director of the Medical and Health Sciences School and is currently Vice-Rector. He published 58 articles in scientific periodicals including 8 international ones. He published 53 papers in conference proceedings. Since 1983, he is member of the Brazilian Society of Rheumatology and general secretary from 2014 to 2016. He wrote 16 book chapters and had three books published. He has participated in 66 events in Brazil and 14 abroad. He also oriented 53 students from undergraduate in science initiation and 3 professional master degree students. It operates in Medicine with emphasis in Rheumatology. In his curriculum vitae , the terms more frequent in the context of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural production are: Fibromyalgia, quality of life, osteoporosis, chronic pain and systemic lupus erythematosus.
