Payom Wongpoowarak

Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Payom Wongpoowarak has received her Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacy, University of Wales, Cardiff, UK during the period of 1996-1999. Currently, she has worked as a staff in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand since 1986. She had successfully completed her administrative responsibilities as many positions such as the Head Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Associate Dean for Academic Affair in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prince of Songkla University. She has involved in pharmacy education for the Pharmacy Council of Thailand as many committees including the Secretary of Pharmacy Education Committee. She also has been the committee of the Association of Hospital Pharmacy (Thailand), the Committee of Medication Selection (Nutritional Section) for the National List of Essential Medicines, Ministry of Public Health. Her research has included clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical care, and pharmacy education. Based on this research and her experience she has received several awards and honors, such as. “Outstanding Thesis Advisor: Health Sciences in the Year 2004 and 2006” (award from Prince of Songkla Univesity), “Honor Pharmacist in the Year 2007 as person who dedicate to develop clinical pharmacy in hospital in Thailand (award from the Association of Hospital Pharmacy (Thailand)) and “Outstanding Education Pharmacist” in the Year 2011 (award from the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage). She has been the reviewer of several journals like Thai Journal of Pharmacy Practice, Thai Journal of Hospital Pharmacy, Songklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology, Sonklanagarind Medical Journal, Silapakorn University Science and Technology Journal, and Journal of Pharmaceutical Care & Health systems.

Clinical pharmacy, Pharmaceutical care and Pharmacy education
