Dr Ravi Gupta has received his MD in Psychiatry from SMS Medical College, Jaipur (India) University during the period of 2000-2003. Currently, he is working as .Associate Professor in. Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun. His research has included neuropsychiatric and sleep disorders like headache, Restless legs syndrome, insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as: I Indian Young Psychiatrist award (Indian Psychiatric Society-2008), Young Psychiatrist fellowships from World Psychiatric Association (2008) and Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (2009). He was also awarded the Mini Fellowship in Sleep Medicine by American Academy of Sleep Medicine in 2010. He was elected as the member of National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 2015. He is serving as an expert Reviewers for journals like Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, Journal of Psychiatry and Neuroscience, World Journal of Biological Psychiatry, Acta Neuropsychiatrica, Asian Journal of Psychiatry, Journal of Headache & Pain, Nigerian Journal of Clinical Practice, Oman Medical Journal, Headache, Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment, Sleep Medicine, Journal of Parkinsonism and Restless Legs Syndrome, Nature and Science of Sleep, Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Hemodialysis International, The Clinical Respiratory Journal, Medical Sciences and European Journal of Neurology. He has contributed approximately 90 publications in the fields of Psychiatry, Headache and Sleep Medicine in various peer reviewed national and international journals. He has also authored 11 chapters in Indian books and 4 in international books He is a member of various professional organizations like • World Association of Sleep Medicine, International Restless Legs Syndrome Study Group, Indian Society for Sleep Research, Indian Sleep Disorders Association, Indian Psychiatric Society, Indian Association of Geriatric Mental Health, Brain and Behavior Society and World Association of Medical Editors.
