Dr. Sijumon Kunjachan has received his PhD in Cancer Nanomedicine from RWTH University in 2013. Currently, he is working at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. His research focus on the development and evaluation of nanomedicines for the cancer- drug delivery, imaging and radiation therapy. Dr. Kunjachan is particularly well-known for his original research on 'passive versus active tumor targeting using polymeric nanomedicines' and ‘nanoparticles for radiation therapy’ . Based on this research and fellowship training, he has received several awards and honors, such as Radiation Research travel award, World Molecular Imaging poster prize and several others. He is serving as an editorial member of International Journal of Pharmaceutical Frontier Research & expert reviewer for over 10 different journals including Biomaterials, Biomacromolecules, Pharmaceutical Research, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Drug Design, Development and Therapy, Clinical Pharmacology & Biopharmaceutics, Nanotechnology: Science and Applications, Clinical Pharmacology, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, International Journal of Nanomedicine, Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, and several other reputed journals. He has co-authored one book chapter titled: 'Nanotheranostics' in Nanotechnology and Drug Delivery, Volume 2- Nano-Engineering Strategies and Nanomedicines against Severe Diseases. Currently, Dr. Kunjachan is a member of Radiation Research Society, American Chemical Society, European Society of Molecular imaging and several other organizations. Dr. Kunjachan also serves as a reviewer for several scientific grants including the EU scientific trans-domain proposals and the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
