Biography

Prof. Chatterjee is actively involved in hemoglobinopathy research for last 7 years. During this time he had walked in the different avenues of research related to hemoglobinopathies including thalassaemias (Beta, E-beta). He had published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals of high standard. He has published a comprehensive population screening data of more than 18,000 people of West Bengal, India. The spectrum of beta globin mutations, related to thalassaemia of West Bengal, Eastern part of India and Chittagong, Southeastern part of Bangladesh is exclusively unrevealed by Prof. Chatterjee & his associates. He had published these works in very prestigious journal "Hemoglobin". Not only the genomics, but also he is very much interested in R.B.C. proteomics. He has published papers in peer-reviewed journals if international standard on plasma proteomics of thalassemia. Being a molecular biologist, he is enthusiastic in all aspects of human molecular & cyto genetics, specially all genomic aspects of hematology.
