Wan-Shu Cheng

Wan-Shu Cheng
Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, Republic of China.

Biography

Wan-Shu Cheng has received her Ph.D. degree in the Dep. of Computer Science and Information Engineering National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan. She received a B.Sc. degree in Information Management from Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU), Taiwan from 2001-2005 and the M.S. degree in Information Engineering from I-Shou University (ISU), Taiwan. She is primarily interested in applying the powerful systems approach with the enabling genomics, transcriptomic, and proteomics technologies to address some of the most pressing issues pertaining to human health: cancer and stem cell biology, immunity, and disease biomarker discovery. April 2009, she had started to collaborate with Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) in Seattle, USA to develop nucleosome binding position predicting visualization tool on ChIP-Seq data. From November 2009 to September 2010, she was working at ISB and involved in human DNA methylomes protein-DNA interaction analysis in human embryonic stem cell through ChIP-Seq data and different methylome platforms data integration and analysis. She has developed a strategy for extracting cancers patient prognostic marker panels with potential personalized therapeutic targeting and a systematic integrated analytic tool, CGPredictor, to benefit the scientists for mining and examining genome-scale cancer independent prognostic markers.
