Biography

After graduated from the college in 1992, Dr. Xu Zhang mainly focuses on hand surgery, plastic surgery, and orthopaedics. He has developed many new surgical techniques to improve surgical treatments, which are published in the Journal of Hand Surgery (Am), Journal of Hand Surgery (Br), Annual Plastic Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Journal of Trauma, Microsurgery, and J Reconstructive Microsurgery.

As an invited speaker, reported “Reconstructing Traumatic Defects in the Head of the Proximal Phalanx Using an Osteoarticular Pedicle Flap Taken From the Capitate” at 2014 AAHS Meeting in Hawaii.

Dr. Xu Zhang has published 16 articles in the Journal of Hand Surgery (Am). In China, he is the second person who has most articles published in the Journal.

Base on Endnote, Dr. Xu Zhang is the second person who has most articles on flap in the world between 2011 and 2013.

Xu Zhang is included in the Editorial board of Plastic and Aesthetic Research, Journal of Hematology Research, and Journal of Minimally Invasive Orthopedics. He is also a reviewer for Journal of Hand and Microsurgery, International Journal of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, Journal of Hematology Research, Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, Journal of Trauma & Treatment, Journal of Zhejiang University, and Orthopaedic Surgery.
