Biography

Prof. Yackoob Kassim Seedat has received his PhD in Medical Sciences from the University College, Dublin during the period of 1950-1956. Currently, he is working as Emeritus Professor of Medicine, University of KwaZulu Natal. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Professor and Head of University of Natal. His research has included Hypertension and Renal Medicine. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as Special Award for Research by Medical Res. Col of S.A., The South African Medical Association honour for leadership and outstanding contribution in the field of medicine, Minara Chamber of Commerce- Academic Award, Pioneer Award from the International Society of Hypertension and many more. He is serving as an editorial member of reputed journal like European Journal of Internal Medicine and has served for many journals like J. Hypertension, Blood Pressure, J Human Hypertension, Intl. Journal Artificial Organs, Cardiovascular Risk Factors, etc. He has 362 publications in medical journals and 38 chapters in books. He has presented 357 papers at 127 international and 230 national congresses and societies.
