Biography

Dr. Yan Ding has received her PhD in Florida International University (FIU, USA) during the period of 2008-2013. Currently, she is working as research scientist in Southeast Environmental Research Center (SERC) affiliated with FIU. Her research interests have included two aspects: (1) molecular characterization and dynamic study of natural organic matter, focusing on pyrogenic derived organic carbon, i.e. black carbon; (2) petroleum chemistry and characterization of oil bio-/photo-degradation products using two-dimensional gas chromatography-mass spectrometer. She is an outstanding young scientist who has received several awards and honors, such as: The Outstanding PhD Graduate Award (2013, FIU); The Best Dissertation Award (2013, FIU); Doctoral Evidence Acquisition Fellowship (2011, FIU). She is serving as expert reviewers of more than 18 reputed journals like Environmental Science & Technology, Chemosphere, PLOS ONE, Scientific reports, Marine Chemistry, Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, Journal of Soils and Sediments, Journal of Oceanography, Science of the Total Environment, etc. She has authored more than 15 high quality research articles and conference abstracts published in the top ranked peer reviewed journals, such as Science, Chemosphere, Biogeochemistry, Limnology & Oceanography, Organic Geochemistry, etc.
