A series of pyrazole derivatives containing thiazole moiety (IV a-g) are synthesized by the condensation of various indolyl chalcones with substituted 2-hydrazino thiazole. Indolyl Chalcones are obtained from indole-3- carboxaldehyde and substituted acetophenones. The structures of these compounds are confirmed by physicochemical as well as IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectral means. The synthesized compounds are screened for their in-vitro antibacterial and antifungal potentials against various strains of micro-organisms. The pyrazole substituted with –NO2 group has been found to be more potent than the standard Gentamicin in the antifungal activity and moderate to good active against all the bacteria.
