Accelerator physics is can be defined as study of motion, manipulation and observation of relativistic charged particle beams and their interaction with accelerator structures by electromagnetic fields. It is a branch of applied physics which is related to designing, building and operating particle accelerators. It further involves in different areas like microwave engineering where it is used for acceleration or deflection of objects in radio frequency range, geometrical optics and digital signal processing.
