Haemophilia is a medical condition in which the ability of the blood to clot is severely reduced, causing the patient to bleed severely from even a slight injury. The condition is typically caused by a lack of a hereditary coagulation factor, most often factor VIII. Hemophilia is an inherited (genetic) disorder. There's no cure yet. But with proper treatment and self-care, most people with hemophilia can maintain an active, productive lifestyle.
