Night terror is a sleep disorder in which disruption of sleep takes place in terrified manner. Night terrors occur mostly in children aging 3-5 years. Night terrors are not a concern of deep medical issue. Occurs more in children with sleep walking family history, tiredness and fevers.
Although night terrors are more common in children, they can also affect adults. A night terror episode usually lasts from seconds to a few minutes, but they may last longer. Night terrors may require treatment if they cause problems getting enough sleep or they pose a safety risk.
