An ocular prosthesis is one of the type of craniofacial prosthesis that replaces the eye which is absent naturally, following an orbital exenteration, evisceration, enucleation. ocular prosthesis is also called as artificial eye. It fits over an orbital implant and under the eyelids. According to the evidence it was concluded that the first woman who used ocular prosthesis was belongs to Shahr-I Sokhta, Iran.
It is an artificial part supplied to remedy a deficiencyor artificial replacement for an eyeball.
