Remote sensing techniques

Techniques used in remote sensing Aerial photography, Manned-Spaced photography, Landsat Satellite imagery to collect information about a given object or area. Remote sensing techniques constitute an extremely sophisticated set of surveying approaches which include aerial photography, ariborne or satellite digital imagery and LiDAR.  These images are recorded by sensors responding to both visible and non-visible radiation (light) and are gathered from airborne and satellite platforms. Electromagnetic radiation is readily absorbed by water, the degree of penetration depending on clarity, with typically no more than 15 to 20m even in clear water. These techniques are reliant on specialist operations, be they satellite or airborne.
