    Milk Allergy:
    Milk is one of the most common food allergens. Individuals with a hypersensitivity to cow's milk might likewise be adversely affected by milk from different creatures, including sheep and goats. Allergy to cow’s milk is the most common food allergy in infants and young children. Nearly all infants who develop an allergy to milk do so in their first year of life. Most children eventually outgrow a milk allergy.

    Milk Allergy Symptoms:
    Sensitivity to cow’s milk varies from individual to individual. A few individuals have a severe reaction after ingesting a tiny amount of milk. Others have just a mellow response subsequent to ingesting a moderate measure of milk. Responses to drain can be serious and life-undermining. Although rare, it is possible for a child with a milk allergy to have a serious reaction known as anaphylactic shock.

    Milk Allergy Management and Treatment:
    It is recommended that formula-fed infants who are allergic to milk use an extensively hydrolyzed, casein-based formula. This type of formula contains protein that has been extensively broken down so it is different than milk protein and not as likely to cause an allergic reaction. Examples of casein-hydrolysate formulas are Alimentum and Nutramigen. If the child is not allergic to soy, his or her doctor may recommend a soy-based formula.
