It is the seventh largest country by area in Europe and the 62nd largest in the world. Germany is bordered by the North Sea and, at the north-northeast, by the Baltic Sea. Germany is situated between the oceanic Western European and the continental Eastern European climate and having mild temperature seasonal climate. There are 14 national parks, 14 Biosphere reserves and 98 nature parks in Germany. It is a federal, parliamentary, representative democratic republic.
Status of economy, research and development:
Germany is the largest economy in Europe which is fifth position by PPP. Germany is the founding member of European Union and the Eurozone. Germany economic model is based on social market economy. It is part of the European single market which represents more than 508 million consumers. Automotive industries of Germany are considered as the fourth largest by production and one of the most competitive and innovative in the world. In 2013 German companies spent 54 billion euros on research and development, strengthening Germany as a business location in the international competition.
