Alzheimer’s Association Lebanon (AAL) was first recognized in 2004 to improve the living standards of people with dementia and their families.

Since its foundation in January 2004, Alzheimer’s Association Lebanon has brought hope to families & those they take care for. For too long, the disease was a taboo subject, families were stigmatized and those affected were deprived of dignity and modern care.

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION LEBANON also aims to spread in-depth knowledge of the disease and to decrease the burden of care on family members and encourage partnerships between professionals. Raising community awareness & stimulating involvement can be a little tricky journey in repressive societies like ours. Thus, creating an Alzheimer’s association seemed a solution & an effective way to achieve help for the largest possible number of people.
Alzheimer’s association Lebanon goals at becoming the pioneer in the Arab world to disseminate information reduce stigmatization and unveil the darkness about Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s association Lebanon is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with dementia and their caretakers and to raise public awareness throughout Lebanon and the Middle East.

The purpose of Alzheimer’s association Lebanon is to highlight key mental health concerns such as the need to overcome anxiety, silence & stigma. Creating an Alzheimer’s association is the most efficient way to reach help for the largest possible number of people.

Equally significant is a broad program of public outreach to change outlooks of society at large. De-stigmatizing Alzheimer’s, and creating awareness of its increasing impact.

Alzheimer’s Association Lebanon (AAL) mission is to raise social and individual public awareness to support people with dementia and their caregivers though care services, support group meetings, dissemination of information, training, capacity building workshops and advocating public health policies.
