American Hospital Association

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is that the national organization that represents and serves every kind of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. American Hospital Association is an association that seeks to promote quality health care provision by hospitals through public policy and providing data regarding health care and health administration to health care suppliers and the public. The AHA hosts a Resource Centre with over 47,000 books on health care and maintains a Health designing and Administration information that gives current data on health care unrelated to clinical treatment. Through our representation and support activities, AHA ensures that members' views and desires are heard and addressed in national health policy development, legislative and regulative debates, and judicial matters. Our support efforts embrace the legislative and government branches and include the legislative and regulative arenas. In 1870, there have been only about a hundred general hospitals within the us; however the establishment was growing quickly. Hospital directors shaped a company known as "The Association of Hospital Superintendents of the us and Canada", that control its initial meeting in 1899 in Cleveland, Ohio, wherever seven of the eight superintendents attending were primarily based. The organization was promoted by publisher Del Sutton, whose journal The National Hospital Sanatorium Record was adopted by the group in 1900, step by step returning below the management of the organization till it had been replaced by the organization's own publication, the modern Hospital. In 1906, the organization adopted its present name. Membership was 450 in 1908. In 1917, the year before adopting institutional membership, the Association broadened its objective. to push the welfare of the individuals to this point because it could also be done by the institution, care, and management of hospitals and dispensaries efficiently and economy; to help in procuring the cooperation of all organizations with aims and objects the same as those of this Association; and generally, to try to all things which will best promote hospital efficiency.
