Asia and Oceania Thyroid Association -AOTA

AOTA was set up in 1975 in Boston at the season of the seventh International Thyroid Congress through the endeavours of Ian Hales (Australia) Creswell J Eastman (Australia) and Shigenobu Nagataki (Japan). Ian Hales was its first president, helped by 3 VPs, Gopal K Rastogi (India), Kazuo Shizume (Japan), and Leland Villadolid (Philippines). The principle Objectives of the affiliation are

To advance the learning of essential and clinical thyroidology, to upgrade the enthusiasm for the act of pharmaceutical identified with the thyroid and advancement of pertinent exploration in thyroidology, to encourage the cooperation and trade of data among people and national social orders inside the locale, to sort out and coordination of regional logical congresses and meetings inside the locale,  to choose agents from the locale to the International Thyroid Congress Coordinating Committee. The affiliation plans to propel the learning of essential and clinical Thyroidology. It will seek after the upgrade to build enthusiasm for the act of solution identified with the thyroid and advancement of applicable exploration in Thyroidology.

The present president of the Organisation is Takashi Akamizu Wakayama, Japan. It contains members from all places like Iran, Japan, Iraq, Taiwan Bangladesh etc. It also encourages new research works by done by the members by giving them the prizes and grants. It conducts many conferences yearly worldwide. Some of the conferences conducted by them are 16^th International Thyroid congress on October 01, 2015, 12th Asia Oceania Thyroid Association Congress on September 30, 2015 etc.
