Ten specialists from Asia met in Fukuoka, Japan in November of 2003 with the end goal of sorting out a relationship for UTI and STI in Asia. These specialists were Tetsuro Matsumoto, Yong-Hyun Cho, Min Eui Kim, Hiromi Kumon, Leonid Stratchounski, Bill Wong, Prasit Tharabichintkul, Paul Ananth Tambyah, Tetsuro Muratani, and Seung-Ju Lee. Amid this meeting the Asian Association of UTI and STI (AAUS) was established and Prof. Tetsuro Matsumoto was chosen president. The AAUS was in actuality the principal association of UTI and STI in Asia. In 2004, the AAUS was interested in all researchers who are keen on UTIs and STIs in Asia.
