ASCVS is providing substantial involvement in the arena of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery research and it is considered to be one of the most alleged Cardiovascular & Thoracic Societies in Asia. ASCVTS was originally started in 1973, which was been founded by Drs. DeBakey, Haimovici and other eminent cardiovascular surgeons. In 1992 ASCVS in progress between Korea, Taiwan and Japan. The first meeting was held in Fukuoka, Japan in 1993. In 2004 ASCVS turn out to be self-governing from ISCVS, since ISCVS become ISVS, the society for only vascular surgeons only. In 2008 ASCVS added the thoracic surgery part and became ASCVTS (The Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery) which includes 30 countries & members more than 1000. The present president of the society is Dr. Shinichi Takamoto, from Tokyo.
Its been 43 glorious years of achievements for the Asian Society for Cardio Vascular and Thoracic Surgery. To attain their goalmouth objectives are to endorse the learning of the art, science, and practice of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and to simplify the discussion of ideas in this arena through conferences and individual interaction between specialists.
The annual assemblies include the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, symposiums and lectures on innovative skill, practical sessions, etc.—have grown-up to take in more than a thousand assistants. These activities are prearranged to endorse novel and healthier treatments that have better-quality consequences for patient care in Asia. 60% of the world’s population is in Asia with inordinate political, economic, and cultural diversity. The society main aim is to support cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons involved in the care of patients in Asia, and to unite with specialists in other regions of the world concluded edification and communication.
