The association of amateur entomologists Quebec (AEAQ) promotes entomology as scientific endeavour. It aims introducing members to study of insects through meetings, sessions and excursions. It aids in providing high quality equipment at reasonable price. Besides fostering knowledge regarding insects, it also promotes protection and conservation of insects. The society was founded in 1974 by 12 members working in the field of entomology. The society now has 2 subsidiaries, one in Montreal and other one at Quebec to promote the study of insects among general public. The society is being monitored and maintained by 6 board members. The society promote among the general public, the observation and study of the fascinating world of insects; avail and inspirit those fascinated with entomology in their leisure (initiation, extension accommodations); promote exchanges between members by organizing sundry activities (annual meeting, publication of FABRERIES magazine and its supplements, monthly meetings in the regions, etc.); study and inventory of the insect fauna of Quebec
