Association of Clinical Biochemists of India

The Association was established in 1978 in Vellore, India. Clinical biochemistry is a branch of knowledge associated with analysis of body fluids, blood, cells and tissues so as to grasp illness method. The scope of clinical bio chemistry is reticular with patient care and treatment. The programme has been running frequently since 1978. A committee headed by Rd. A. S. Kanagasabapathy from Christian Medical faculty, Vellore with the assistance and cooperation of his faculty started this programme. The organizers send one phial of Q.C. sample by post monthly to all or any participants who are coded to disguise their identity. The collaborating laboratories analyse the parameters indicated within the incidental to report from and report back their result to Vellore inside a stipulated time. All result sent by laboratories are statistically analysed and also the laboratories are given their score, the selected values beside the suitable vary of values of every analyse. ACBI organizes its National Conference once a year in several cities of the country. At a gathering of Clinical Biochemists (called FOUNDER MEMBERS) from varied components of the country on January 18, 1975, resolution was passed to determine Association of Clinical Biochemists of India.
