Association of Educators in Radiological Sciences

The Association of Educators in Radiological Sciences was founded as the Association of University Radiologic Technologists in 1967. The main objective of the association is to meet the needs of the educator in imaging and radiological sciences. It also aims to stimulate an interest in radiologic technology through the academic environment. The Radiological Association provides a means for healthcare professionals to exchange expertise and various ideas. In 1984, the name was changed to ‘Association of Educators in Radiological Sciences’ which more accurately reflect the organization's composition and expand to include collegiate and hospital based educational program and faculty members in all of the imaging and radiation therapy fields. In June 10, 2006, the name has been changed to reflect the association’s commitment to inclusion for educators in all modalities. The Association of Educators in Radiological Sciences (AERS) shines as the frontrunner in the trend of organizations to embrace the spirit of physical therapy. This Radiological Association is one of the largest organizations for cardiac imaging and radiologic science educators that represent educators from the United States, Canada as well as countries abroad. AERS supports a wide range of regional faculty excellence seminars, annual meetings, various international networking, and a series of grant programs which includes research awards, and international travel- scholarships throughout the world.
