Biophysical Society of China

The Biophysical Society of China (BSC), as a part society of the China Association for Science and Technology, is a non-governmental organization for Chinese biophysicists in order to promote academic exchanges.

The Biophysical Society of China was found in November 1979 and initiated by the famous biologist Shizhang Bei. He is the first president of BSC. Zihe Rao is the current president. At present, the BSC has more than 2500 members. He holds the China Biophysics Conference every two years. Recently the BSC organized, sponsored or assisted in many international academic conferences. It plays an significant role in promoting economic and social development, and human health in China.

The Biophysical Society of China is a national academic organization. To date, it has around 2,500 individual members from every province in China, with most researchers in research institutes, universities and colleges in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and so on. The fields of biophysics research in China includes: the structure and function of biological macromolecules, biological membrane and cellular biophysics, biophysical neuronal and neural computing, bioinformatics and theoretical biophysics, biology of free radicals and medicine free radicals, optical biology, radiation biophysics and environmental, biological and mechanical biological rheology, modern biophysical methods and technologies, and so on. From 1980, the major research achievements have been made in all areas of biophysics in China. For example, the famous biologist Bei not only proposed World Chapter her "cell restoration theory", but also played an important role in promoting research and development in radiation biology, cosmobiology, biocybernetics and Biophysical Engineering Technology. He was also editor of Acta Biophysica Sinica from 1985 to 1991.

The Institute is the host institution of the Biophysical Society of China, which publishes journals, development in biochemistry and biophysics and Acta Biophysica Sinica ; the previous is indexed by SCI -E . In collaboration with the Chinese Higher Education Press and the Institutes of the life of the Beijing Science CAS , the Biophysical Society of China has also started publishing a new newspaper SCI , Protein & Cell, in January 2010 .

IBP focuses on cooperation and international trade. It has developed cooperative relationships with organizations in 16 countries. Its harmonious explore environment and high standards of research have attracted many international researchers. IBP aims to become a world class institution that made ​​major contributions to the advancement of biological sciences.
