The Canadian Oncology Societies was established in 1976 when a few oncologists consolidated with a typical enthusiasm, through the endeavours of Dr. Carl Reise a surgical oncologist from Winnipeg. In 1974, Dr. Reise stepped up with regards to the Canadian Cancer Society. This activity was then upheld by Dr. Anthony Miller and after two gatherings in 1975 (Royal College, January 1975 and NCIC, March 1975), an assention was come to frame the Canadian Oncology Societies. The principal yearly meeting of the Canadian Oncology Societies was hung on January 26, 1977 in Toronto with 66 establishing individuals in participation. Dr. Reise was the establishing president and Dr. Anthony Miller of Toronto, the main Secretary/Treasurer. Over its 30 year history, the command of the Canadian Oncology Societies has advanced, especially in perspective of the improvement of a few new oncological strengths affiliations, for example, the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists and the Canadian Society of Surgical Oncologists to give some examples. In a retreat of the top managerial staff held in July 1994, the objectives and goals of the general public were looked into and the accompanying issues were settled upon and in this way executed by the enrolment.
