Chinese Medical Association

Chinese Medical Association (CMA) is the largest non-governmental medical organization in China. It was established by a group of medical professionals in 1915 with an aim to promoting medical professionals, holding with medical ethics and advocating social integrity. It currently has over 430,000 members and 82 specialty societies. It published over 70 medical journals. The CMA plays a leading and active role in the nation’s medical education by giving training. The CMA is a subsidiary of the Chinese Medical Association and is specialized in organizing conferences and successful meetings. The CMA  was established by the Chinese Medical Association in 1950. It was started by organizing services to domestic medical conferences and medical academic exchange events. In 1980, China's international medical exchanges and cooperation flourished and the business expanded to international medical conferences, conventions, meetings and special events. Now the association organizes more than 150 medical conferences and meetings annually. After many decades of development, they have accumulated with rich knowledge and expertise benefiting their conferences. CMA became a full UICC member in 1989. The Chinese Medical Association aims to publish national journals in general medicine and various specialties. Till April 2012, the Publishing House has published 126 journals which is the largest series of medical journals in China. Among the 126 journals, 22 are edited and published at the headquarters of the CMA and 104 by local branches of the CMA or by medical universities. The Publishing House consists of an administrative office, an editor-in-chief office, 22 editorial departments(22 journals), a publishing and circulation department, and the Beijing Huakang Advertising Company. With the support of medical and pharmacological specialists and other reliable sources of information, the CMA journals have outstanding editorial committees and teams of peer-reviewers. Since 120 years, the Publishing House and its predecessors under the guidance of the CMA have developed a systematic management system in editing and publishing medical journals and training editorial staff generation by generation. The contributions of medical professionals, editors, especially readers and contributors have made the journals constantly influential with latest medical knowledge and achievements in research and clinical practice, promoting scholarly activities and progress in medical sciences. The CMA journals are the most attractive periodicals in China.
