Chinese Society for Microbiology

The Chinese Society for Microbiology founded in 1952, is one of societies which comprise China Association for Science and Technology. The academic research activity of society involves many fields including industry, agriculture, medicine, environmental protection and national defense etc. The office of the society is in the support institute from Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Science. Every year, the society publishs seven journals and holds academic meeting more than ten times. The society has done much effective work for developing society and for increasing friendship and promoting interchange in international exchange. Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) was founded in 1958. It is a national comprehensive research institution that achieves a wide spectrum of basic and applied research in the field of microbiology. IMCAS is committed to three missions for basic and applied research aiming national strategic needs and world-class frontier sciences, discerning tank for the government and graduate student training. It has established nine research centers, which convey out studies on microbial resources, microbial genomics, agricultural biotechnology, Bio-energy and industrial biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, extremophiles, microbial metabolic engineering, molecular virology and molecular immunology.
