Clay Minerals Society

THE SOCIETY is the consequence of an upheld and chose effort by various people from arranged requests. By collaborating they have kept up an Annual Clay Minerals Conference and have sorted out creation of its methodology.

The relationship from which the Clay Minerals Society created was not the first of its kind. After World War II people from various controls sorted out mud mineral get-togethers in Belgium, France, and England where, by January, 1947, typical get-togethers and a generation had been made by the Clay Minerals Group of the Mineralogical Society of Great Britain. At the International Geological Congress in London the following year the Comite' International Pour l'Etude des Argiles (CIPEA, now the ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONALE POUR L'ETUDE DES ARGILES, or AIPEA) was sorted out.

About this time the formally sweeping energy for earth minerals began to find application in the examination and era attempts of the petroleum business. This extended interest was further made by American Petroleum Institute Project 49, Clay Minerals Standards. Which made available an agent suite of researched soil minerals. At the end of the Symposium on February 2 I, 1951, an easygoing meeting open to anyone propelled by earth examination was held to orchestrate future social affairs. In the midst of this meeting, at which Ralph E. Depressing was chief, the prerequisite for a between disciplinary earth minerals social affair was analyzed and a board was surrounded from determinations from the floor. The exchange underscored the prerequisite for a yearly meeting to join people from all controls enlivened by earth research and that the affiliation should not be appended to a national society addressing stand out request. Ralph E. Repulsive was requested to be head from the leading group of trustees and A. F. Frederickson to be the official secretary.
