The Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB) is a non-profit civil Society that congregates persons and companies of any nationality. The society was founded on February 22, 1972 during the Agricultural Entomology Meeting held at Uruçuca, Bahia. It mainly consists of 43 entomologists and they had the idea of creating a Society to bring together professors, researchers, technicians and persons who are interested in the study of Entomology and its application for the benefit of humanity. The main aim is to formulate the exchange of ideas among various professionals in the area of entomology research and communicating the knowledge of Entomology and it mainly promotes the Brazilian Congress of Entomology awards and the Biological Control Symposium awards towards the outstanding entomologists and also it publishes the SEB Newsletter and the journals of Neotropical Entomology and Bioassay development.
