European Association For Earthquake Engineering

The Association was established as a non-profit organization with its objectives and activities to be active in Turkey and abroad. The aim of EAEE is to promote regional cooperation among researchers and engineers in the field of earthquake engineering and to advance the research in the field of earthquake engineering. EAEE contributes and supports all related research and educational activities and it plays an active role in organizing the educational  and research  activities in Europe in this field. It also plays a major role in all aspects of mitigation of the effects of earthquakes in Europe and sets a model for other regional, national and international organizations to follow for mitigation of earthquake risk. The first EAEE Symposium occurred in Skopje in the year 1964. EAEE organizes regular conferences every four years in Europe. It also organizes regional seminars and workshops for young scientists and engineers; It helps in the exchange of data, information, and expertise for establishing data banks;  It brings about new publications, research reports, and a journal in the field of Earthquake Engineering; EAEE cooperates with the activities of international societies with which the Association is affiliated, and works together with suitable NGOs and non- profit organizations to improve and advance the science, social and educational aspects of earthquake engineering along with mitigating the earthquake risk in seismically active member countries through joint projects. This association makes all efforts to raise funds for research and for improving the capabilities of the Association for becoming a non-governmental and non-profit organization with well-established financial plan and perspectives.
